BAS Agents & Our obligations


SB Books is register under SB Bookkeeping Solutions Pty Ltd.

As a registered BAS Agent service, SB Books is required to inform all current and prospective clients of the following prescribed matters, in accordance with the requirements set by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB):


TPB Public Register 


The Tax Practitioners Board maintains a searchable register of tax agents and BAS agents. The Register also includes details of past breaches of the Tax Agent Code of Professional Conduct and specific sanctions imposed on BAS agents. Our Professional and Client Obligations


As registered BAS Agents, we are required to comply and adherence to the Code of Professional Conduct, as well as other legislative and professional standards. These obligations ensure we act with integrity, independence, and in the best interests of our clients, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), and the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).


In turn, clients also have important responsibilities, including:


  • Complying with all applicable taxation laws
  • Providing complete, accurate, and truthful information
  • Maintaining proper and complete records
  • Responding to information requests in a timely and cooperative manner
  • Meeting all due dates and obligations as advised by SB Books


Mutual cooperation ensures accurate reporting, timely lodgements, and continued compliance with legal and professional standards.


Disclosure of Prescribed Events

In accordance with section 45(1)(d) of the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024, tax practitioners are required to disclose details of any prescribed events that have occurred since 1 July 2022.


As at 1 July 2025, SB Bookkeeping Solutions Pty Ltd is not aware of any such prescribed events relevant to our practice.

Should a prescribed event occur after 1 July 2025, we are required to notify the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) within 30 daysof the event, and we will ensure compliance with this obligation.
